Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Qore.
What is Qore?
Qore is a daily thinking-quiz platform where your intellectual identity is built through action. Qore combines a 7-question thinking quiz, daily branching moral scenarios, and a progressive thinking profile that evolves with every choice you make.
How does the quiz work?
Qore's thinking quiz presents 7 second-person moral dilemmas that take about 2 minutes to complete. No signup is required. Your answers are scored across 10 independent values to determine your primary thinking style.
Is Qore free?
Qore is free. The thinking quiz, daily scenarios, your thinking profile, and streaks are all free to use. A premium tier (Qore+) is coming soon for power users; the free tier remains genuinely useful, not a limited demo.
What are the daily scenarios?
Qore's daily scenarios are branching moral dilemmas drawn from real-world events. Over 3 decision steps your choices escalate in stakes. After completing, Qore shows you wisdom perspectives from different schools of thought and how the wider community navigated the same situation.
What are the thinking styles?
Qore maps your thinking across 10 styles, each tied to a thinker who saw the world similarly: Virtue Ethicist (Aristotle), Pragmatist (John Dewey), Idealist (Plato), Stoic (Marcus Aurelius), Utilitarian (John Stuart Mill), Existentialist (Simone de Beauvoir), Communitarian (Confucius), Principled (Immanuel Kant), Care Ethicist (Carol Gilligan), and Contractualist (John Rawls).
How does my thinking profile evolve?
On Qore, your profile starts with your quiz results and shifts as you complete daily scenarios. Qore tracks how your thinking changes across ten values: Character, Inquiry, Truth, Resilience, Outcome, Authenticity, Harmony, Consistency, Compassion, and Equity.
Can Qore tell if I'm an overthinker?
Yes, in a way. Beyond your thinking style, Qore builds a "How You Decide" profile from the way you actually play: how long you keep weighing a choice after reading it, how fast you commit when a clock is running, and how often you take the exit that avoids a fight. It surfaces four decision traits, Overthinker, Decisive Under Pressure, Avoids Conflict, and People-Pleaser, each earned from your real choices rather than a self-rating. The traits unlock as you complete more scenarios, so they sharpen the more you play.
How do streaks work?
On Qore, completing one scenario each day builds your streak. Miss a day and it resets, but you get two free streak freezes per month to absorb a 1-day break. Longer gaps can be covered by spending Kori.
How do album packs work?
After you complete 5 scenarios, you can spend 10 Kori to open an album pack. Each pack generates two AI-illustrated cards for a scenario you have already played; you keep one and the other is gone. Cards collect into a monthly album you can browse, with a chronological view across everything you have kept.
What is Ask Qore?
Ask Qore is an AI feature that reads your own decision history and reflects back how you actually think and decide. After you finish a scenario, it can surface a short observation about the path you took. Once you have completed 25 scenarios, a dedicated Ask Qore section opens where you get an opening insight plus up to five follow-up questions per session. Ask Qore is not a chatbot or a personality test: it only reflects patterns in the choices you have made.
How much does Ask Qore cost?
You earn Kori by playing daily, then spend it on Ask Qore. A reveal-card insight after a scenario costs 2 Kori and is cached, so replaying that path is free. The dedicated Ask Qore section unlocks after 25 completed scenarios and costs 15 Kori per session (one opening insight plus up to five follow-up questions). Past sessions are saved so you can revisit them for free.
What data does Qore collect?
Qore collects your email (only if you sign up), your quiz responses, and your scenario choices. Qore uses anonymous first-party analytics with ephemeral session identifiers to improve the product. Qore never sells your data. See the privacy policy for full details.
Is Qore available in other languages?
Qore is currently English-only. Multi-language scenarios are planned for a future update.
Is Qore like 16Personalities or MBTI?
Qore is not a personality test. Whereas 16Personalities and MBTI sort you into a fixed type from a one-time questionnaire, Qore measures how you actually decide under pressure, across many days and many scenarios, and the profile shifts as your behaviour does. The output is a thinking style mapped to a school of thought (e.g. Stoic, Utilitarian), not a four-letter type.
What's the difference between Qore and the political compass?
The political compass plots you on a 2D economic/social grid using policy-preference questions. Qore plots you across 10 independent moral-reasoning styles using behavioural choices in concrete dilemmas. Qore is about how you decide, not which political tribe you belong to. The dilemmas avoid partisan flashpoints by design.
Who founded Qore?
Qore is built by Adam Petritsis, an independent product designer and founder. Qore began as a personal experiment in turning ethics from a static label into a track record you accumulate.
Is Qore scientifically validated?
Qore's framework draws on peer-reviewed moral-psychology research including Schwartz's basic human values, Moral Foundations Theory, and the ethics-of-care tradition. The exact mapping from user choices to thinking styles is being calibrated against the live user base. Qore reports profiles as working hypotheses that sharpen with more data, not as clinical diagnoses.
How does Qore use AI?
Qore uses AI to assist scenario authoring, drafting branching narratives and wisdom-perspective text that human editors then refine and validate against quality guidelines. Your quiz answers and scenario choices are scored by deterministic rules, not by an AI model. No personal data is sent to AI providers as part of scoring.
Can I delete my Qore account?
Yes. You can delete your account from Profile → Settings, in line with GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure). Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your personal data and any active subscription are removed at once. Anonymous aggregate data may be retained for research and product improvement.
Does Kori expire?
No. Kori never expires. Once it lands in your balance it stays there until you spend it, whether that is tomorrow or six months from now.
Can I get a refund on Kori purchases?
Kori packs are one-time purchases and are non-refundable, in line with standard digital-goods terms. Once Kori is added to your balance it is yours to spend whenever you like, and it never expires.
Do I need a credit card or account to try Qore?
No. The thinking quiz takes about 2 minutes and needs no signup or card. You only create an account when you want to save your profile and play daily scenarios, and you only pay if you choose to buy Kori.
What happens to unused Kori if I stop playing for a while?
Nothing. Your Kori just sits in your balance. It does not expire, decay, or get clawed back, so you can step away and pick up exactly where you left off.
Is Qore Basic available to buy yet?
Not yet. Qore Basic is coming soon and is not purchasable today. The Free tier and one-time Kori packs are both live right now, so you do not need Basic to get the full daily experience.
Can I switch between Kori packs and Basic later?
Yes. The three tiers are independent. Free, one-time Kori packs, and Qore Basic never lock you in. Kori packs work the same whether or not you ever go Basic, so you can top up now and revisit Basic when it launches.
