The dilemma

Sunday lunch at his flat. He tells the red light story like a joke, the new lights are timed wrong, everyone brakes late there. His car keys are on the side table under a fold of hospital car park tickets, six or seven of them, and he has filled the tank three times since you saw him last. 'Go on then,' he says. 'You have not smiled once since you walked in, {{NAME}}.'

Your options

  1. Book him a proper driving assessment, and promise to accept whatever it says.
  2. Take the keys off the table now, before there is a third time.
  3. Say you came about the driving, and ask him to tell you about the lights in his own words.

The Spare Key

Your dad ran a red light by a school. A woman pulled her kid back by the coat. You have his spare key, and he says he's fine.
