The dilemma

You took him down by the bread shelves. Your knee is in his back and one hand has his shoulder. The knife is on the tiles beside you, well out of his reach. He has gone limp, though you cannot tell if he is finished or just getting his breath back. Nobody else in the shop has moved yet. You have him held, and nothing about that changes until someone does. Your free hand is up and your body is still shouting at you to use it. His lips are moving. He is saying a name into the floor, over and over.

Your options

  1. Hit him once more so he stays down.
  2. Slide the knife away and check he is breathing.
  3. Get off him now, hands up, and step back.

One More Hit

You pinned the man who stabbed the cashier. He has stopped moving. Your fist is still in the air.
