The dilemma

Dinner is loud and ordinary until the plates are cleared. This is the moment you planned for. Your parents still talk about the day you will take the keys, your younger sibling jokes along, and none of them know what you are about to say. Your mother catches your eye and asks why you are so quiet tonight.
