The dilemma

The approval is final, but nothing is built yet. There is still a window to challenge it in court, and your group is split. Some want to fight to the end. Others say it is time to let the families have their homes. They are all looking to you. What do you do?

Your options

  1. Keep fighting. The last wild place near you is not a thing to trade for what is convenient now. Once it is paved it is gone for good, and that loss is real whether or not it wins you any friends.
  2. Stand down and let it proceed. 139 families with nowhere to live outweighs a field, however much you love it.
  3. Drop the all-or-nothing fight and push for a redesign. Test whether the homes can be built denser on part of the site while the core wetland stays.

The Field They Want to Build On

You fought two years to save the land. Now 139 families need the homes that would replace it.
