The dilemma

You're crouching by the vending machine, picking up the coins you just dropped, and there it is: a scratch card wedged under the machine. You pull it out and check the numbers. 10,000 euros. Your heart rate doubles. You look around. Nobody's watching. You saw Maria from accounting buying a handful of these at the corner shop during lunch, but she hasn't said a word about any win. For all you know, someone else dropped it. Or maybe she scratched it and didn't notice. Either way, it's in your hand now.

Your options

1. Go straight to Maria and ask if she lost a scratch card
2. Keep it. It was on the floor. Anyone could have dropped it.
3. Post a note in the break room: 'Found something near the vending machine. Come see me if it's yours.'
