The dilemma

Your child's report card is the best they have ever had. But at parent-teacher night, the teacher pulls you aside: '{{NAME}}, your child does not struggle anymore, and that is the problem. They never wrestle with ideas, never fail, never figure things out on their own. The AI always gives them the answer.' Your child overhears and says: 'Why would I struggle when I don't have to?'

Your options

  1. Set limits on the AI tutor. It can only be used after your child has attempted problems alone for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the AI entirely. Your child needs to rediscover what it feels like to think without a safety net.
  3. Sit down with the teacher and your child to agree on rules everyone can accept. The AI should ask questions, not give answers.
