The dilemma

You are at a coffee shop when your friend's partner sits down across from you, uninvited. Their eyes are red. They say: '{{NAME}}, I know something is going on every Friday. I have been losing sleep over this. Please, just tell me the truth.' You know the therapy is not cheating. But your friend never told you about it either. You only know because of a glance at a screen.

Your options

1. Tell them the truth. Their partner is not cheating, they are going to therapy. The relief of knowing will outweigh the breach of privacy.
2. Say you genuinely do not know what is happening on Fridays. It is not your secret to share, and you were never told directly.
3. Tell them they need to ask your friend directly. You will not lie for anyone, but you also will not be the one to reveal it.
